학교안전공제중앙회 학교 방문(2025.7.9)
재외한국학교 실태조사 및 컨설팅을 위하여 학교안전공제중앙회 임직원(정훈 이사장외 6명)이 2025년 7월 9일 10시에 우리학교를 방문하였습니다. 학교안전공제중앙회에서는 안전사고 예방을 위한 각 학교급별에서 필요한 안전교육 콘텐츠 교육자료를 전달 받았으며, 우리학교는 안전공제회 청구 등 개선 요청 사항 의견을 적극 전달하였습니다.

Grade 2 Field Trip to Kiztopia
Grade 2 students went to Kiztopia on a field trip to explore and experience a variety of physical sports and games that served as an Entry point in to our IPC unit ‘Human Body’.

Grade 5 Field trip to National Gallery of Singapore
Grade 5 visited the National Gallery of Singapore as part of our learning of Singapore's history. Our visit allowed us to understand the significance of this iconic monument in Singapore's past and also to appreciate the building's beautiful architecture.

Kindergarten Field Trip - Hay Dairies
The kindergarten students have embarked on their wonderful fieldtrip to Hay Dairies as part of their semester field trip. On this educational field trip, the students were able to see a live demo of milking the goats as well as learn about the different nutritional facts of goat milk. This field trip allowed the students to have a deeper understanding about their theme of the month, 'Animals and Nature' through an interactive and exciting way. The students had tons of fun feeding the goats with the special Alfalfa hay!

유치원 전통문화체험의 날 (6월)
6월 전통문화체험의 날에는 '꽃신' 만들기 활동을 하였습니다. 아름다운 꽃과 나무, 장수와 번영을 상징하는 동물들을 새긴 아름다운 꽃신 살펴보기, 꽃신의 의미 알아보기 등의 활동을 한 후, 꽃신 만들기 활동을 하였습니다.

English Book Week 2025
SKIS celebrated the English Book Week from 19-23 May to encourage children to explore written language and enhance their literacy skills. It was a week full of reading and fun activities as children immersed in the fictional characters and expanded their views of the world through a range of emotions, learning new words and phrases and acquiring literacy skills and knowledge. We also had special visits from the authors, storytellers and illustrators to share their first-hand experiences of their journey with our students. It was a wonderful week enjoyed by all!

2025 SKIS Chinese Speech Contest
The Chinese Speech Competition aims to inspire students to develop their Chinese language proficiency and enhance their ability to express ideas effectively through writing and public speaking. By engaging in creative writing and speech delivery, participants will strengthen their communication skills, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, and gain confidence in using the language in real-world contexts.

한-싱수교 50주년 고등학교 국제교류(with Yishun Innova Junior College)
22 and 23 May 2025 marks the first high school exchange between Singapore Korean International School (SKIS) and Yishun Innova Junior College (YIJC). Our Grade 10 to 12 students were good cultural ambassadors by participating alongside with our guests in various activities including Korean calligraphy, Korean childhood games, K-pop random dance, and the making of hwachae (fruit punch) and injeolmi (rice cake with soy bean powder), the latter being the most popular programme among students. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Singapore, SKIS and YIJC students gave an insightful presentation on the intangible cultural heritage of both countries. Our students also got to experience junior college life by attending lessons ranging from PE to Tamil Language. The 2-day high school exchange provided an important platform for SKIS high students to have a glimpse of each other's education system and cultural tapestry.

한-싱수교 50주년 중학교 국제교류(with Swiss Cottage Secondary School)
Singapore Korean International School (SKIS) and Swiss Cottage Secondary School (SCSS) held their middle school exchange on 28 and 29 May 2025 for the second consecutive year. This time students had the opportunity to experience Korean culture first-hand through calligraphy, childhood games and the making of hwachae (fruit punch) and injeolmi (rice cake with soy bean powder). Of course the K-pop random dance was the climax of the programme at SKIS. Student leaders from both schools also gave an impressive presentation on the mutual influence of Singapore and South Korea’s government policies and trade relations to commemorate the 50 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Singapore. Our SCSS counterpart continued on this theme by helping SKIS students understand the importance of food sustainability to Singapore through making the popular snack popiah together. The 2-day middle school exchange programme culminated with the design of handphone holders on iPads which SKIS students will receive their customised handphone holder through laser printing in the Design & Technology studio at SCSS.

이금이 작가와의 만남(초등독서행사)
초등독서주간, 이금이 작가와의 특별한 만남 2025년 5월 19일부터 27일까지 열린 초등독서주간 동안, 학생들은 다양한 책을 읽고 독후활동을 통해 독서의 즐거움을 경험했습니다. 학년별로 나뉘어 진행된 활동은 학생들에게 상상력과 창의력을 키울 수 있는 기회가 되었고, 많은 독서 활동들이 이어졌습니다. 행사의 마지막 날, 특별히 초대된 이금이 작가는 ‘꿈과 글쓰기’라는 주제로 학생들과 소통의 시간을 가졌습니다. 이날 학생들은 작가와의 만남을 통해 글쓰기의 중요성과 꿈을 향한 열정을 더욱 키울 수 있었습니다. 이금이 작가는 학생들이 쓴 독서감상문을 꼼꼼히 읽고, 질문지와 편지에 친절히 답하며 따뜻한 소통을 이어갔습니다. 또한, 각 학생에게 직접 사인을 해주며 특별한 추억을 선물했습니다. 이 시간이 학생들에게 큰 의미가 되었고, 작가와의 교감을 통해 창의력과 꿈을 키우는 데 큰 도움이 되었습니다. 학생들은 이번 경험을 통해 독서와 글쓰기에 대한 꿈을 키우고, 앞으로도 꾸준히 그 열정을 이어나갈 것입니다.
